Cribbed from Reddit: A lovely new edition of the Chronicles designed in conjunction with the Netflix Magician’s Nephew movie. The covers strike a late 1960s-inspired Art Nouveau vibe with me. Very graphic, like this cover for a Neil Gaimon graphic novel I reviewed (it includes his version of The Problem with Susan.) The books seem to be for a Portuguese-speaking market, but one can hope will be released in other languages as well.

From top left:The Magician’s Nephew, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Horse and His Boy, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Last Battle. Some of the illustrations are not intuitive for the books they represent. It took me a while to realize the illustration for The Silver Chair was of Aslan sending Jill into the air with a puff of his breath, as occurs in the novel’s beginning.

The box for the series, showing a decorative Aslan on one side, and Fledge, Digory, and Polly on the other.
