As it’s the Autumn Equinox, I’m sad to say it’s the end of another Summer of Narnia. So here’s another collection of pics showing another ending, the death of one Jadis, also known as the White Witch and the so-called Queen of Narnia.

Dead but not dismembered. So pretty but so evil!

A terrifying Aslan leaps upon the hapless witch. But. Who’s that man in the business suit behind her? If it’s Peter, he’s evincing an embarrassingĀ lack of courage; if Edmund, his grimace may be caused by the mortal wound he’s suffered.

A full-figured witch drops her dagger in surprise, having lost her wand (thanks to Edmund).

Artwork by Michael Hague
Michael Hague was the artist responsible for one of the rare (pre-Walden movie) calendars of Narnia. This scene rendered in autumnal tones depicts Aslan;s leap upon the witch.

A souvenir program from a 1999 LWW production by The Royal Shakespeare Company. This was available for sale at the concessions stand in the lobby and was made for young attendees. This is the only pic I’ve found where the two go head-to-head in combat.

Note the elf ears on Jadis.

A sci-fi witch, complete with silver helmet and metal gauntlets (and a lightsabre?) tries to withstand the ferocious power of a charging Aslan. She’ll fail of course.

Does Aslan have regrets?
WITCH: Stop this, all of it! I command you!
